Love/hate affair with Autumn

Autumn is not my favourite season. I always have a hard time to accept the fact that summer is over. Every day gets shorter and darker. The weather is just the worst: cold, with a lot of rain and fog. It takes ages to get dressed in all the layers of clothing needed to go outside. Sometimes, I would just want to go hibernate until spring.

But autumn is not all that awful. Autumn festivals, pumpkins, apple pies, and roasted chestnuts makes this season bearable. Colourful sunsets are gorgeous and changing of the leaves create beautiful scenery. Yes, I have to admit, autumn is the most colourful time of the year and as such can be truly glorious.

Alpabfahrt Kerns 2016

Every autumn ceremonial descent of the herds from the summer pastures in the mountains take place all across the Alps. This festivities are in Switzerland known as Alpabfahrt, Alpabzug or Desalpe. Few weeks ago, I’ve visited one of those events: Alpabfahrt in Kerns village in Zentral Switzerland.
