What to do when you find yourself in Zürich on a sunny December morning and you have some time to kill? You stroll around the town and take some photos of the city in its festive attire, like I did. Here are some snaps from my morning walk:
Three years ago in November, I attended Räbechilbi, a traditional fall festival in Richterswil, a lovely village on the banks of Lake Zürich.
The festival can be traced back to the early 1920s and is held every second Saturday evening in November. The inhabitants of the village decorate the facades of their houses with turnip lanterns and there is also a parade of different constructions illuminated by hundreds of hollowed turnips.
