Winter stroll around the Tribschen quartier in Luzern

It has been a while since I last virtually took you around Luzern. Way too long! For that reason, I took my camera with me when I went for a walk around the Triebschen neighbourhood few days ago. I snapped some photos of this lovely area I would now like to share with you.

German name for Lake Lucerne is der Vierwaldstättersee, French is Lac des Quatre-Cantons, Italian Lago dei Quattro Cantoni and Rhaeto-Romanic Lai dals Quatter Chantuns – all can be roughly translated as “the lake of the four cantons”.

Lake Arni (Arnisee) in spring

My husband and I visited one of those lakes few weeks ago. We went to Lake Arni (Arnisee), small artificial lake located in the mountains of canton Uri at the altitude of 1370 meters.

The estate has been open for public since 1974 and has no entrance fee. It’s scenic and peaceful spot, popular with the locals, but not yet discovered by the masses of tourists.

In search of the Autumn Sun by the Lake Cresta and Lake Cauma

Autumn in Luzern can be very nice, but when the weather does not cooperate, it can be gloomy. Last Sunday in September my husband and I woke up in a cold misty morning. Pilatus Mountain and the surrounding mountains were covered with thick layer of clouds. The weather forecast wasn’t too promising. We both strived for some sun, so we’ve check the weather forecast in other parts of Switzerland. Canton Graubünden was supposed to have sun and clear skies, so we decided to drive there. Our destination was Flims, a lovely alpine town, on a terrace north of the Rhine valley.
