Love/hate affair with Autumn

Autumn is not my favourite season. I always have a hard time to accept the fact that summer is over. Every day gets shorter and darker. The weather is just the worst: cold, with a lot of rain and fog. It takes ages to get dressed in all the layers of clothing needed to go outside. Sometimes, I would just want to go hibernate until spring.

But autumn is not all that awful. Autumn festivals, pumpkins, apple pies, and roasted chestnuts makes this season bearable. Colourful sunsets are gorgeous and changing of the leaves create beautiful scenery. Yes, I have to admit, autumn is the most colourful time of the year and as such can be truly glorious.

Ski season 2015/2016 summary

Winter has come to an end. Most of ski resorts shut their lifts and closed their slopes. Looking back, this ski season was great. Despite I’ve only skied in Switzerland, I’ve been to some amazing places where I enjoyed amazing alpine landscape and had great time at the slopes.

In total, I’ve spent 7 days skiing:

Zermatt – Winter Paradise revisited

After our trips to Zermatt in November in December my husband and I were showing our photos and praising the beauty of Zermatt village to our families. My father, who is a avid skier, was fascinated. Every winter he comes to visit us in Lucerne to spend some quality time together. Impressed by our Zermatt experiences he asked us, if we could organise ski trip to this lovely village. Of course, we did.

Zermatt weekend getaway

A month ago, when October turned to November, my husband and I went to the charmingly cute mountain village of Zermatt in canton Wallis/Valais to celebrate my husband’s birthday.

Zermatt is beautiful mountain village. Likewise many other Alpine villages, it is full of charming peak-roofed wooden buildings. What differs Zermatt from other villages and makes it special is Matterhorn – iconic pyramidal mountain that can be found on every box of Toblerone chocolate and countless Swiss postcards.
